The Functional Medicine, evidence-informed approach I use addresses your whole person needs (not just your symptoms) and treats each person individually, focusing on the unique factors that might be creating or exacerbating your symptoms or health condition.

During our initial session, I carry out a comprehensive case history exploring not only your medical history, but where appropriate lifestyle, stress, sleep patterns etc.

During our time working together, I’ll take every effort to ensure I offer you the most effective advice, based on both my experience and the best available scientific evidence. Sometimes health can improve beautifully swiftly, at other times change can be slower – especially if you have been experiencing problems for some time. I have therefore developed a Wellbeing Package (Option 2) for people requiring additional ongoing support and motivation. Please be assured, I will be happy to work with you for as long as it takes you to achieve your health and wellbeing goals.

I aim to make sure all recommendations are as manageable and enjoyable as possible.

I work at the Practice Rooms in Bristol and Cheltenham and the Hypnotherapy and Health Centre in Cirencester, but offer Skype/phone consultations to people anywhere in the world.

There are several options for working together:

Option 1

Personalised nutrition/Functional Medicine consultation:

A single appointment to set you on your path with a personalised nutrition programme. For some people this is enough to get them going to make the necessary changes – for others longer support will be required.

[This option takes around 2 ½ to 3 hours of my time analysing, researching and completing your personalised nutrition plan  – this includes your 1:1 appointment]

To include:

  • Analysis of your health and lifestyle questionnaire – to be returned 48 hours before we meet
  • Review of your 3-day food diary
  • A 1 hour face-to-face or phone/Skype consultation to include a comprehensive Functional Medicine case history and detailed discussion about your questionnaire and food diary
  • Discussion about functional testing
  • A personalised nutrition plan based on the information gathered to include relevant diet and lifestyle recommendations (emailed within 3 days – usually 24hrs)
  • Supplement recommendations (if required)
  • Guidance notes/information sheets (as necessary)
  • Suggestions of other supportive therapies (as appropriate)
  • Free email support for 7 days after your consultation to ensure you have all the information you require to carry out the recommendations

Option 2

3-month Wellbeing Package: 10% cheaper than booking appointments/support time individually

If you have a complex illness or long-standing health issues, we may not make sufficient progress in just one session. This Wellbeing Package offers you more  comprehensive support. I will proactively keep in contact with you and dedicate support time for you for the full 3-month duration – tweaking and refining our plan and keeping you motivated to carry out the recommendations. If you would prefer to extend this to 4 months, that’s fine – we can review as we go.

Extended initial personalised nutrition/Functional Medicine consultation plus proactive follow-up support

This includes:

  • An extended 75 minute face-to-face or phone/Skype consultation to include a comprehensive Functional Medicine case history and detailed discussion about your questionnaire and food diary
  • Discussion about functional testing
  • A personalised nutrition plan based on the information gathered to include relevant diet and lifestyle recommendations (emailed within 3 days – usually 24 hours)
  • Supplement recommendations (if required)
  • Suggestions of other supportive therapies (as appropriate)
  • Guidance notes/information sheets (as necessary)

Plus
❤ 2 x 45 min follow-up face-to-face or Skype/phone sessions (approximately 5 & 10 weeks after initial consultation) to review your initial concerns, assess your response to and review your current plan, explain test results (if undertaken) and discuss next steps. I will send email recommendations within 24 hours.
❤ Up to a total of 60 minutes extra contact time (email or phone catch-ups) in between sessions so I can regularly offer you support and motivation. I aim to be in touch every 2 weeks (more frequently if helpful)

Option 3

‘Ask Helen’ 30-minute phone consultation:

A 30-minute phone consultation for any nutrition related queries. I will also send my general nutrition guidelines following the call, but this will not include a personalised nutrition plan.
